I am an Associate Professor in Emergency Medicine at UC San Diego School of Medicine, where I serve as the Medical director for Medical Student Initiatives UCSD Health System and Assistant Director for Medical Education at the T Denny Sanford Institute for Empathy and Compassion.

My career is driven by a deep commitment to fostering health equity and advancing medical education. I develop innovative service-learning opportunities that address systemic health disparities and work to promote empathy and compassion within healthcare delivery. My academic efforts focus on integrating health equity into educational initiatives, enhancing interprofessional collaboration, and setting new standards in medical education.

Previously, I have led impactful programs such as Mobile Health Outreach and de-escalation training initiatives, which emphasized harm reduction and meeting the needs of underserved communities.
