Dr. Chioma Victoria Nwachukwu graduated from the College of Medicine, University of Nigeria as a Medical Doctor. Since graduation, Victoria has explored her interests and gained experience in Clinical Medicine, Research, Leadership, Volunteerism, and Teaching.

As a fully registered medical practitioner in Nigeria, she has acquired relevant certifications, passed the Primary Fellowship Examinations of the National and West African College of Physicians, and has worked in Nigerian government hospitals and private clinics. She identifies and has completed projects with well-recognized national and international research teams, and is an active member of several professional bodies.

Chioma is passionate about teaching and has taught human physiology to students in medical/health sciences at the University of Nigeria. She has been a part of humanitarian projects via, but not limited to, NGOs like Medix Frontiers (a team of medics working to curb the spread of HIV in Nigeria), We-Care without Borders Foundation (a team committed to carrying out compassion outreaches in Nigeria with a focus on health, social and economic needs of the less privileged), the Canadian Red Cross amongst others.

Her Master's project at the University of Manitoba focused on in vitro electrophysiology, spinal cord injury, and motor/autonomic function recovery. As a graduate student (GPA 4.5/4.5), she received 9 awards and recognitions including studentships, travel awards, and awards of excellence. She has successfully completed all the requirements for a Master of Science degree. She remains interested in understanding chronic, potentially debilitating diseases, including cancers, how to reduce human suffering, and improve overall quality of life.

Chioma is ECFMG certified and is presently in a U.S. internal Medicine residency program that will give her the advanced training she needs to become a successful physician and researcher.
