Dr. Savage started clinical practice in 2000. He is a Board-Certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist and Board-Certified Clinical Electrophysiologic Specialist by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. He is Registered in Musculoskeletal® sonography by the Alliance for Physician Certification and Advancement. He has advanced training and certifications in orthopaedic manual therapy and acupuncture dry needling.
Dr. Savage received his PhD in Rehabilitation Science from the University of Utah and has peer-reviewed publications in the Journal of Ultrasound in Medicine, European Spine Journal, Journal of Orthopaedic & Sports Physical Therapy, Medical Science Educator, Journal of Musculoskeletal and Neuronal Interactions, and Journal of Orthopedic Case Reports. Dr. Savage received a PhD in Rehabilitation Science from the University of Utah, a DPT degree from the University of Kansas Medical Center, a MS degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Rhode Island, and a BS degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of Utah.
Dr. Savage is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy at Winston-Salem State University and researches advanced neuromusculoskeletal evaluation using ultrasonography and electrodiagnostic testing. He began clinical practice in Knoxville, TN, returning to Utah in 2003 where he ran an outpatient orthopedic and sport medicine clinic until 2021. He is happily married to his lovely wife and has 3 children.
