About

I am currently a Rheumatology Fellow at the University of Puerto Rico, where I also completed my Internal Medicine residency and earned my M.D. My academic journey has been shaped by a strong commitment to clinical research, medical education, and serving underserved communities.

My research has focused on diverse topics, including the impact of menopause on long-term outcomes in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on patients with diabetes in Puerto Rico, the transition of care for young adults with type 1 diabetes, and cardiovascular risk factors in Puerto Rican patients with multiple sclerosis.

I've presented multiple case reports at national and regional conferences, including:

- Celiac Artery Compression Syndrome at the 2025 Southern Regional Meeting
- SLE Presenting as Acute Pancreatitis at ACG 2024 and ACP Puerto Rico 2023
- Spontaneous Pneumothorax during Thyrotoxicosis at CHEST 2024
- Myxedema Coma in a Geriatric Patient at the 2024 Southern Regional Meeting
- IgA Vasculitis in an Adult Patient at ACP Puerto Rico 2023
- Rapidly Progressing Breast Mass at CHEST 2023
- Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis Mimicker at the 2023 Research and Education Forum
