Dr. Abhishek Gupta is currently working as Senior Scientist at CSIR-Central Scientific Instruments Organisation Chandigarh. Previously, he worked for Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Katra (J&K), in the Computer Science & Engineering Department for many years. He is working in the field of computational image processing. His research areas are medical/dental imaging, computer vision, and artificial intelligence. He has completed a B.E. degree in Computer Engineering from Rajasthan University, an M.E. degree in Computer Science and Engineering from PEC University of Technology, Chandigarh, and PhD in Engineering from AcSIR (Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research) at CSIR-Central Scientific Instruments Organisation, Chandigarh.
He is working in the area of computational dentistry. He has filed 8 patents in India and US, and 2 US patents and 2 Indian patents have been granted in his credit. He has authored around 28 articles in SCI journals, and authored several other articles in conferences and other journals with reputed indexing. He has delivered many invited expert talks in many renowned organizations. He has served as a Lead Guest Editor of many reputed SCI journals published by Springer and Wiley and also served as a reviewer of several SCI and SCOPUS-indexed journals. He has reviewed many research project proposals for funding agencies. Currently, he is serving as Associate Editor for the Journal of Multimedia Tools and Applications. Currently, He is editing two books also, which shall be published by Elsevier and Springer.
He is working on several sponsored projects from the government funding agencies. He has guided 3 doctoral students, 7 M. Tech students, and several B. Tech projects in the area of Image processing and Computer Vision.
