Vilitra, a drug used to treat erectile dysfunction, is a member of the phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE-5) inhibitors class. Its active component is vardenafil, which boosts blood flow to the penis during sexual stimulation. Vilitra is available in tablet form in dosages ranging from 20 to 60 milligrams and should be taken as prescribed by a physician. It is not meant for use by women and is not recommended for use by those with low blood pressure, serious liver or cardiac issues, or recent heart attacks or strokes. It is also not advised for use in conjunction with nitrate-containing drugs, as this may result in severe blood pressure reduction. Vilitra is sold under the brands Staxyn and Levitra.
