About
Born, Cleveland, Ohio, USA, 1940. Studied philosophy in Cleveland, Toronto and Edinburgh. Studied French in Quebec, German in Vienna, and later Hebrew in Tiberias. Taught philosophy, which I found unrewarding. Worked in organic gardening and bicycle mechanics. Moved to Israel in 1979 and worked in desert irrigation in the North Sinai, and in various manual trades in Hebron and Kiriat Arba. Taught in Open University of Israel and in Ben Gurion University, Faculty of Health Sciences, the latter for 20 years.I was Assistant Editor, Eubios Journal of Asian and International Bioethics, Founding Member and VP of Asian Bioethics Association and member of Board of Directors, International Association of Bioethics. I have the level of Master Healer in Reiki. I am now emeritus but teach part time and am currently working on a paper on Edward Jenner. I am married to June Leavitt, a literary scholar and authoress. We have five children and nine grandchildren at last count. We live in Kiriat Arba, Hebron. I know I am a bit unusual for your journal.
