The active ingredient in Klonopin 2 mg binds to a neuronal receptor in the brain called gamma amino-butyric acid (GABA). This binding stimulates the production of the GABA neurotransmitter. Neurotransmitters can be either excitatory or inhibitory, with the former increasing brain electrical activity and the latter decreasing it. GABA is an inhibitory neurotransmitter, that reduces electrical activity in the brain. Lower electrical activity means fewer transmitted signals, resulting in a feeling of calmness, reduced anxiety, and enhanced relaxation.
