Graduating with his medical degree from Santiago de Compostela University, Spain in 2001, Dr. Pedro J Marcos, completed his residency in pulmonology at Complejo Hospitalario A Coruña Spain, where he served as chief resident. After completing some time working at Ourense University Hospital , Dr Marcos joined the faculty at the Pulmonary Service of A Coruña Hospital, where he is also a member of the Lung Transplantation program. He completed his training with stays at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and Clinic Hospital at Valencia, Spain. Dr. Marcos has published several papers within his fields of clinical and research interest including community-aquired pneumonia, COPD, interstitial lung disease and lung transplantation. He belongs to the editorial board of Archivos de Bronconeumología , he has been guest editor from Current Respiratory Medicine Reviews journal and he is reviewer of several other journals including Respirology, Vaccine, The American Journal of Medical Sciences or Journal of General Internal Medicine. He obtained the European Diploma in Respiratory Medicine in 2010, and he has been Hermes Mentor for the European Diploma in Adult Medicine of the European Respiratory Society. He completed the Global Clinical Scholar Reasearch Training Program from Harvard Medical School in 2015. He is also an active member of the Spanish Society of Pneumology and Thoracic Surgery (SEPAR) and the Galician Society of Respiratory Diseases (SOGAPAR), where he is currently their president.
