Started career as physician and joined Bangladesh civil cervice health cadre in 11th batch. Then obtained M. Phil in Medical Virology from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University in 2001, carried out thesis on Isolation and serotyping of Dengue viruses by different culture methods and detection of antibody from clinically suspected cases of Dengue fever. Started working as Assistant Professor Virology in Dhaka Medical college since 2002. Awarded Australian Development Scholarship to study Master of Public health focussing on prevention of HIV/AIDS and obtained MPH on international health. Conducted Research work on Hepatitis, Dengue, HIV and Human Papilloma virus. Promoted as Associate Professor in 2015 in the Department of Virology in Dhaka Medical College and as Professor in 2020. Lead the department of Virology in Dhaka Medical College as the Head of the Department for 8 years. Obtained a Advanced Diploma in Biotechnology from the Centennial College in Toronto, Canada in 2022. Joined as Professor and Head of Virology in National Institute of Laboratory Medicine and referral centre, Dhaka Bangladesh in December 2022.
