About

My research focuses on the development of green nanomaterials, in vivo testing of their toxicity and safety in Drosophila fruit flies of various species, and analysis of the effects of mutations on Drosophila.
I have authored four books, 25 book chapters, and more than 95 papers in referenced journals that are SCI/Scopus-indexed. Several publications in nanobiotechnology, Drosophila biology, zoology, botany, and toxicology are also under my editorial leadership as chief, guest, and associate editors. I have served as the dissertation advisor for more than 20 postgraduate dissertations, over 100 graduate dissertations, and M.Phil. and PhD theses.
I have won several honours, including the University Research Fellowship, the Recommended UGC Research Award for the years 2014–2016, and the distinguished Fellow Linnaean Society London Fellowship Award for the years 2019–20. I have organised workshops, conferences, and Short Term Training Programmes in nanobiotechnology and Drosophila biology and have received numerous funds for research initiatives from funding organisations including DBT, UP-CST, AKTU-CRIP, and LSFI.
