About

Muhammad Waqas is originally from Pakistan. He received his Bachelor degree in Medicine & Surgery from King Edward Medical University. He did his internship at Mayo Hospital which is a premier tertiary care referral facility affiliated with King Edward Medical University. He has also done externships in Interventional Cardiology at Wayne State University School of Medicine, Detroit, Michigan. He is currently doing his Internal Medicine Residency training at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Jacobi Medical Center, NY.

Muhammad’s interests are Hospital Medicine, Cardiothoracic Critical Care, Imaging, and utilization and incorporation of Point of Care Ultrasound into routine inpatient care related decision making. Muhammad has developed a new passion of clinic research after coming across several occasions where he was able to make a significant difference in quality of his patients’ care and outcomes after reading updated literature about his patients’ conditions. He is interested in pursuing masters in clinical research in this year (2019).

Muhammad enjoys spending time with his friends and family, travelling and exploring new places and local food, off-roading, backpack camping, and hiking and trekking. Muhammad has traveled to many states in USA and has tons of memories to share about home and abroad. He is currently learning Spanish and is already able to interact with his patients with much ease.
