during my third year of dentistry, right after the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic and the tragedy of millions of deaths worldwide worked as a catalyst and compelled me to initiate my first survey, “Change in treatment protocol among dentists in Ahmedabad during COVID-19 pandemic” to know its impact on dental professionals. As much as it ignited my passion for research, it further solidified my passion to dig deeper into the intricacies of research methodology. I ventured into the realm of research with my first paper-“Attitude, knowledge, and perception of cross-infection control among dentists”, which provided me with valuable insights into the practices followed for cross-infection control among dentists for patient care. Following this, I worked on two research papers-the first being, “Comparing the Effectiveness of Low-Level Laser Therapy and Topical Steroid Therapy Combination Regimen with Routine Topical Steroid Therapy in the Management of Oral Lichen Planus Symptomatic Patients”, where I undertook the drafting of the research paper and made a substantial contribution to the conceptualization and design of the study. This study posed a couple of formidable challenges such as rigorous analysis of data and its interpretation which in turn nurtured my research acumen and underscored my dedication to contributing meaningfully to the spheres of oral health on a community level. Another research endeavor helped me gain transmission insights and knowledge about the critical global health issue, Hepatitis B, with a primary focus on healthcare professionals. I am currently working on a study that evaluates the perception of the association between maternal periodontitis and its adverse obstetric outcomes in mothers.
