About
Dr. Horkaew received his B.Eng. (1st Hons.) in Telecommunication Engineering (1999) from King Mongkut's Institute of Technology, Ladkrabang (KMITL). During his undergraduate study, he worked as an RA in medical informatics at the Computed Tomography Laboratory, NECTEC (1997-99). He had then continued his research, supported by the Ministry of Science, in medical image computing at the Visual Information Processing (VIP) group and the Royal Society/ Wolfson Foundation Medical Image Computing (MIC) laboratory, Imperial College London (2000-04).
His Ph.D. thesis focused on an efficient and automatic method for constructing the optimal statistical deformable model for complex topological shapes with application to cardiovascular imaging. As part of his research, in collaboration with the Royal Brompton Hospital (RBHT) London, he also co-wrote a computer assisted diagnosis software for cardiovascular magnetic resonance images (CMRToolsR).
He is now an associate professor with the School of Computer Engineering, Suranaree University of Technology. His main research interests include Networks, Remote Sensing, Computational Anatomy, Digital Geometry Processing, Computer Vision and Graphics.
