Awal Mir joined the Institute of Paramedical Sciences (IPMS) at Khyber Medical University (KMU) in May 2019. He has actively participated in a range of academic pursuits, encompassing teaching, curriculum reform initiatives, paper moderation, and diagnostic hematology.
His professional expertise extends to various areas, including proficiency in flow cytometry, hemoglobin studies, blood transfusion medicine, bleeding disorder screening, and coagulopathies. In addition to his professional engagements, he maintains a permanent membership with the Pakistan Society of Hematology. Furthermore, Mr. Mir has 20 research publications featured in well-reputed national and international journals, as can be seen, in his Google Scholar profile (https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=V153xbAAAAAJ&hl=en). He also plays an active role in supervising research conducted by Master's and undergraduate students.
