About
I am a Postdoctoral Fellow in Dr. Samson Jamesdaniel’s lab at Wayne State University, specializing in auditory neuroscience and neuropharmacology. My research focuses on the effects of environmental exposure on hearing loss and the discovery of potential treatments for hearing deficits.
During my doctoral research, I investigated how ischemia and metabolic disorders like diabetes contribute to neurodegeneration in rodent models, identifying promising drug targets such as phosphodiesterase-5 and PI3K/Akt. My findings have been published in prestigious journals like Vascular Pharmacology and Current Neurovascular Research.
I am an expert in various techniques, including immunohistochemistry, confocal microscopy, and electrophysiological methods like auditory brainstem response. At Wayne State, I am currently studying lead- and noise-induced hearing loss in mice, with recent findings presented at the 2023 Pharmacology Retreat and Association of otolaryngology.
I am GPAT-2017 qualified, a life member of SPER, and have received several awards for my research presentations. With over 8.5 years of research experience, I am committed to advancing the field of auditory neuroscience and exploring new research directions.
