I have clinical experience and expertise in the conduct of clinical trials that involve the testing of concurrent novel therapeutic agents and radiation therapy for the treatment of tumors of the CNS, Head and Neck and Hematopoietic system. I also have experience and expertise in the clinical testing of test novel radio-protective agents. I have laboratory experience related to the biological effects of low dose rate irradiation. I have clinical experience and have participated in clinical research pertaining to the use of conformal irradiation techniques including CT, MR, PET based treatment planning, image guided radiation therapy (IMRT), kv and Mv image guided radiation therapy (IGRT), online and off line based adaptive radiation therapy, as well as LINAC and Gamma Knife base radiosurgery. I am currently actively involved in the identification of functional MR sequences that define biological rather than strictly anatomical targets for conformal irradiation. I am also currently and actively involved in the development and deployment of a first in man radiation therapy treatment device that combines a fully functional 1.5T MRI and modern linear accelerator that allows for MR guided adaptive radiation therapy.
