About

I am an ECFMG certified international medical graduate currently residing in Canada. As a general medical practitioner and resident working in a tertiary care hospital and specialized outpatient clinic, I have had the pleasure of helping both critical and stable patients. I treated and provided follow-ups to patients with chronic conditions and performed many clinical procedures such as, intubating patients, inserting chest tubes, leading CPR, monitoring mechanical ventilators and other life saving procedures.
I have also had the privilege of designing and implementing quality improvement projects which were successful in reducing outpatient department wait times and surgical backlog My graduate research involved working on knowledge, attitude and practice of caregivers regarding pneumonia among under-five children at St.Paul’s Hospital Millennium Medical College pediatrics ward. I graduated from an accredited medical school, St Paul millennium Medical College, in Ethiopia with high honours.
I am currently working with the Canadian Red Cross as a medical assistant/public health specialist serving marginalized communities and actively volunteering as an assistant researcher with the Medical Education Program in Canada and the US. As a research assistant, I have had the pleasure of presenting posters focusing on global health, the challenges and opportunities in telemedicine during the COVID 19 pandemic, Health Challenges in Aboriginal population during the COVID-19 pandemic and others. Furthermore, I am working as a research assistant with Research Update organization with Dr Urvish Patel on multiple research projects.
