About

Umberto has undoubtedly demonstrated a passion towards his community. After finishing his high school education at Colegio San Ignacio de Loyola in Puerto Rico he then moved on to complete a Neuroscience degree at Tulane University with a Dean's Honors Scholarship . At Tulane, Umberto graduated in three years as a magna cum laude and served as the president/founder of Tu-Latino, a student led service group at the school that provided English language services for the Latino community in New Orleans. After graduating, Umberto headed on to USFs Morsani College of Medicine where he is currently pursuing his doctorate in medicine. At Morsani, he has demonstrated an unparallel commitment to clinical research immersing himself in a variety of projects at Tampa General Hospital, Moffitt Cancer Center, and The Yale Hearing and Balance Center. Mr. Donato hopes to go into pediatric surgery after completing his MD whilst creating a tangible contribution to the scientific community alongside the nation’s premier clinical researchers. Having the opportunity to work at Moffitt as a USF MCOM medical student has cemented his passion for clinical research and his commitment to the Latino community. As a future Hispanic physician, Donato has continually reaffirmed his commitment to the medical field creating unique opportunities to contribute and represent the Latino community which has made him the person he is today and the clinician he will be in the future.
