Aizik L. Wolf, M.D., FACS, is a neurosurgeon presently serving as Director of the Miami Neuroscience Center at Larkin in South Miami, Florida. He also is licensed in neurosurgery in Minnesota, Maryland and Colorado, and has previously served as both Chief of Epilepsy Surgery and Chief of Gamma Knife - Skull Base Surgery at the University of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore. Dr. Wolf received his medical degree from Yale Medical School, where he graduated Summa cum Laude. After completing an internship in surgery at Hennepin County Medical Center, Dr. Wolf went on to complete his residency in neurosurgery at the University of Minnesota Hospital. During this time, he conducted research on brain transplantation as a fellow of New York University. Before accepting his present position at the Miami Neuroscience Center, Dr. Wolf contributed to Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, as a Visiting Scholar on the Gamma Knife procedure. A member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Medical Association, American Association of Neurological surgeons, and the International Brain Research Organization, Dr. Wolf is also a founding member of the International Radiosurgery Support Association. Dr. Wolf has been the recipient of numerous grants and research awards. He has acted as principal investigator for two clinical trials involving treatment for severe head injury, both of which were funded by the National Institutes of Health. Also, the American College of Surgeons presented Dr. Wolf and his investigative team with a Research Award for an abstract detailing a lobectomy procedure. Widely published, Dr. Wolf has authored and co-authored numerous book chapters and journal articles on neurological surgery, including work published in Advances in Neurology and the Journal of Neurosurgery. He has presented his research as an honored speaker and invited lecturer at many medical meeting and conferences around the world, such as the Annual Meeting of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the Society for Neuroscience and the International Stereotactic Radiosurgery Society.
