Professor Rolland received her MS in Optical Engineering from the Ecole Superieure D'optique at Institut d'optique - Graduate School in Paris and a PhD in Optical Science from the University of Arizona with a Specialty in Medical Imaging and Task-based Image Quality Assessment. She has worked closely with the Medical School at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill in Mammography in the 1990s, with Radiology at MD Anderson Cancer Center Orlando in the 2000s, and currently with the Medical School at the university of Rochester with a focus in imaging a Gabor Domain Optical Coherence Tomography (a technology Dr. Rolland developed) for Dermatology - seing beyond the surface of the skin up to 1 mm deep at 2 um resolution.
