Bret Schneider specializes in brain neuromodulation technologies for interventional psychiatry, neurology and regenerative medicine, including rTMS and radiomodulation. He has developed numerous medical technologies, from computerized surgical navigation systems to implantable devices and biologics. He has founded several startups, including venture-capital-backed Cervel Neurotech, as the principal inventor of multi-channel rTMS. Bret is presently Chief Medical Officer of Zap Surgical Systems, where he is developing stereotactic radiosurgery as a tool for precise, non-invasive, non-ablative modulation of dysfunctional brain circuits. He is also Adjunct Professor of Psychiatry and Neurosurgery at the Stanford University School of Medicine.

Bret earned a BA cum laude from Washington University in St. Louis, an MD from Rush University in Chicago, and graduated a clinical residency in Psychiatry at UCLA. He completed a fellowship in neurosurgical Stereotactic Radiosurgery and a fellowship in Advanced Psychiatry, both at Stanford University.
