About
During my period of fellowship training in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology at the University of Oklahoma between 1989-91, I had the good fortune to be directly involved in the development of the procedure known as radio-frequency catheter ablation. Working closely with the late Will Webster (Webster Laboratories, now Biosense-Webster), who designed and built the catheters, and through the unique leadership of Warren Jackman, MD, we were able to establish this procedure as first line therapy for virtually all cardiac tachyarrhythmias and the first durable, curative catheter procedure in the field of cardiology.
I practiced cardiac electrophysiology for nearly 30 years at the Prairie Heart Institute in Springfield, Illinois and served as the Director of Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology as well as the Medical Director of the Cardiac Electrophysiology Lab at St. John's Hospital.
Between 1990-2009, I served as Consultant to 27 Academic Hospitals throughout the United States, Europe and Southeast Asia for the purpose of teaching the procedure of radiofrequency catheter ablation.
My publications include 14 manuscripts, 6 book chapters and 37 abstract presentations.
I am Faculty and co-owner of the nationally recognized Order and Disorder Electrophysiology Training Program providing EP lab nursing staff, radiologic tech staff and EP fellows in training for the past 26 years. The website is orderanddisorder.com
I am now retired but continue to teach arrhythmias at Sutter Santa Rosa Regional Hospital residency program.
