Ibraheem received his H.BSc. from the University of Toronto - Specialization in Molecular Biology & Biotechnology.

Afterwards, Ibraheem completed his M.Sc. and research thesis in Cell Biology & Genetics at Trent University, Canada with the Saville and Emery Laboratories by studying the biosynthesis, signaling and translocation of cytokinins during the formation of tumors in the Ustilago maydisโ€“Zea mays pathosystem; a model system that can be used for understanding the pathogenesis of fungal pathogens such as Cryptococcus neoformans that is capable of causing the cryptococcosis disease mostly in HIV/AIDS patients (characterized by the inflammation and formation of tumor like lesions in the brain, spinal cord and lungs).

Subsequently, Ibraheem also completed his MD/MPH โ€“ Preventive Medicine Track.

Ibraheem is also Board Certified in Public Health (CPH) by the NBPHE - National Board of Public Health Examiners, NBPHE as well as a Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health (FRSPH).
