Ibraheem received his H.BSc. from the University of Toronto - Specialization in Molecular Biology & Biotechnology.
Afterwards, Ibraheem completed his M.Sc. and research thesis in Cell Biology & Genetics at Trent University, Canada with the Saville and Emery Laboratories by studying the biosynthesis, signaling and translocation of cytokinins during the formation of tumors in the Ustilago maydisโZea mays pathosystem; a model system that can be used for understanding the pathogenesis of fungal pathogens such as Cryptococcus neoformans that is capable of causing the cryptococcosis disease mostly in HIV/AIDS patients (characterized by the inflammation and formation of tumor like lesions in the brain, spinal cord and lungs).
Subsequently, Ibraheem also completed his MD/MPH โ Preventive Medicine Track.
Ibraheem is also Board Certified in Public Health (CPH) by the NBPHE - National Board of Public Health Examiners, NBPHE as well as a Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health (FRSPH).
