Dr. Christopher J. Stanfill is a research professional and most recently was the Managing Director of Strategic Initiatives at Pencils of Promise in New York City. In this role, he oversaw resource development, organizational data activities, and served as a member of the organization’s Global Leadership Team. Dr. Stanfill and his team were responsible for using data to drive decision making and tell compelling stories that attract new supporters around the globe to advance the organization’s work in Ghana, Guatemala, and Laos. Dr. Stanfill established himself as a thought leader in the field of international development prior to his role at Pencils of Promise through various roles as an evaluator and project manager. He has evaluated public-private partnerships in Liberia, assessed community education interventions in Tanzania, and implemented various tech solutions around the globe as a means to improve access to quality data. He has also dedicated his professional life to improving access to education and health services for people with disabilities living in rural areas of less-resourced settings. Dr. Stanfill was a Henry Luce Scholar in 2011-2012 and received his doctorate from the University of Texas at Austin.
