Hello, I am Richard Tirado, an undergraduate student at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). I assisted in developing a COVID-19 research study headed by Dr. Emily Hotez, Adjunct Assistant Professor at David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, to understand students’ experiences during this pandemic involving an online survey. The results were presented at the 2020 UCLA Maternal & Child Health Virtual Poster Symposium and to elected officials at the California Legislative Black Caucus Youth Forum: The Pandemic of Health and Hate. Currently, I am a student researcher in the Lazazzera Lab, researching how errors in the process of translation impact bacteria cells.
