Dr. Peter M. Mbelele is a clinical microbiologist scientist for Kibongโoto Infectious Diseases Hospital in Tanzania. He leads research on advanced molecular technologies for diagnosis and monitoring tuberculosis where he focuses on simplifying and shortening TB treatment. Peter has Doctor of Medicine (M.D) and Master of Medicine (MMed) in Microbiology & Immunology and he has currently finalized his Ph.D. program at the Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology in Tanzania. Peter continuously works on improving diagnosis and treatment outcomes of individuals suffering arduous form of infectious diseases of public health important like Tuberculosis. His career goal is toward becoming an independent researcher and a leader in the field of clinical microbiology and molecular diagnostics for preventing and controlling infectious diseases. Peter has served as a principle and sub-investigator and or study clinical microbiologist in different observational and clinical trials. To date, he has published as first or co-author in 12 manuscripts.
