About

Dr. Karsy is an Assistant Professor in Neurosurgery, Neurooncology and Skull Base at the University of Utah. He treats tumor, vascular, and spine pathologies through minimally-invasive endoscopic and traditional, open microsurgical approaches. Dr. Karsy also has experience with radiosurgery in a variety of complex cranial pathologies. He completed his residency at the University of Utah. In addition to training, he completed a fellowship in minimally invasive and complex spine as well as Masters in Bioengineering specifically in medical device development at the University of Utah. Afterwards, he completed a fellowship in skull base and neurooncology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. He works with a large multi-disciplinary team that consists of neuroradiologists, neuropathologists, neuroophthalmologists, neuroendocrinologists, and specialized otolaryngology (ENT) cancer surgeons to ensure the best treatment outcomes. His research interests are in improving health care outcomes, novel surgical approaches, and better molecular characterization of tumor where he has over 150 publications, 12 book chapters, and a surgical textbook.
