About

Mary Rawlings is professor at Azusa Pacific University, chair of the Department of Social Work, and director of the MSW program. She has directed social work programs for over 10 years, with emphasis on developing high quality BSW and MSW programs graduating students equipped to serve the greater Los Angeles and Southern California Regions. Her teaching and research interests are in competency based education and the development and testing of the use of simulation in training and assessment of student practice skill. She is interested in experiential learning models, such as service-learning, that can enhance student educational outcomes. She currently conducts research on the development of OSCE for social work. She is a licensed clinical social worker with more than 10 years of direct practice experience.
