Michelle Sergel, MD is an emergency medicine physician at Cook County Hospital and serves as the Simulation Director at both Cook County Hospital and the Co-Executive Director of Simulation at the Rush Center for Clinical Skills and Simulation. With more than 15 years of experience, she has been creating and teaching simulation-based procedural courses for disaster preparedness across the country. She is the founder and the Program Director for the Chicago Consortium Simulation Fellowship. Much of her work over the last 15 years has been focused on developing simulation curricula for the various medical disciplines. Her emphasis has been on the utilization of simulation to improve patient safety, concentrating on inter-professional communication in resuscitation care and disaster preparedness.
