I am a midcareer physician-scientist with very strong clinical background and specific training and expertise in the assessment, diagnosis, and management of behavioral and psychological disturbances related to neuropsychiatric syndromes affecting the elderly. I am particularly interested in primary neurodegenerative disorders as in Alzheimer`s disease, specifically in Hispanic elders. My research interests relate to the early manifestations of neuropsychiatric symptoms (NPS) as in Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) and Alzheimer`s disease (AD) in Mexican Americans (MA) that predict poor outcomes.
