My research during PhD was focused to investigate the role of metal exposure in inducing neurodegenerative disorders. I am interested in investigating the molecular mechanisms involved in memory impairment in neurodegenerative disorders, especially Alzheimer’s disease that may lead to the development of therapeutic interventions. My special focus will be on cholinergic system because of central role of this system in memory acquisition and formation. My emphasis will be on investigating therapeutic potential of herbal products in animal models of the disease and later to identify the lead compounds that may be converted in a drug which can be used by general public for treatment of the disorder.
