Dr. Marcia Alayón Rosario, MD, FACS, FASMBS, DABOM is a board-certified General Surgeon (American Board of Surgery) and board-certified in Obesity Medicine. She completed her medical degree and General Surgery residency at the University of Puerto Rico Medical Sciences Campus, graduating with high honors. She then pursued a fellowship in Minimally Invasive Surgery, Advanced Gastrointestinal Surgery, and Bariatric Surgery at Prisma Health, University of South Carolina School of Medicine, where she received specialized training in robotic and laparoscopic surgery, complex hernia repair, and abdominal wall reconstruction.

She is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), a Fellow of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (FASMBS), and an active member of the American Hernia Society (AHS) and the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES).

Currently, Dr. Alayón Rosario serves as Director of the Hospital Damas Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Center, where she is dedicated to advancing surgical care and improving the health of her community.
