Sinisa Maslovara, Assoc. Prof., MD, ENT and Audiology Specialist at the Faculty of Dental Medicine and Health, Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek, the founder and the first President of the Croatian Society for Vestibular Rehabilitation, Croatian Medical Association.
In 1992, I specialized in Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery at the Sisters of Mercy Clinical Hospital in Zagreb, Croatia. From January 2005 to February 2007, I subspecialized in Audiology and Vestibulology at the same Department, having become an otolaryngologist – audiologist.
I defended my doctoral dissertation titled The Impact of Pharmacological and Rehabilitational Treatments of the Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV) on a Speed Recovery and the Patients’ Quality of Life on September 21, 2009, at the Faculty of Medicine, Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek, Croatia, having been bestowed the academic title of an MD.
I have been intensively studying and teaching Neurotology over a dozen years. I have written four books in the field. For my last book, titled The Most Common Vestibular Disorders, I have received the 2019 Publication Award from the Faculty of Medicine in Osijek, and my fifth book, Otoneurology, is in preparation. Also, I have published 20 scientific articles in the internationally recognized scientific journals. I have established the Regional Center for Dizziness Diagnosis and Treatment, with a special vestibular rehabilitation program. My associates and I have delivered lectures in a dozen workshops on Vestibular Rehabilitation in Croatia and in the neighboring countries (Bucharest, Romania; Belgrade and Subotica, Serbia; Tuzla and Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina).
The field of my greatest interest in Neurotology is BPPV and Vestibular Rehabilitation and, recently, the PPPD and other functional vestibular disorders. I am a Thesis Adviser of two doctoral dissertations and numerous students’ graduate theses in the field of Neurotology.
During the last eight years, I have organized seven very successful and well-attended first-category graduate courses in the field of continued medical education, titled The Advances in the Dizziness Diagnosis and Treatment. In October 2017, I organized the 1st Croatian course of Vestibular Rehabilitation.
