About
Dr. Corrine Abraham is Associate Clinical Professor at the Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing at Emory University. Corrine received a MN from Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing at Emory University in 1985. As faculty at Emory Corrine has had extensive experience implementing innovative initiatives including high fidelity simulation, digital technologies, Problem-Based Learning, and Community-engaged learning experiences. Corrine participated as a lead faculty guiding curriculum revisions as a pilot school for the QSEN grant.
Following completion of her doctorate at the University of MN in 2013 Corrine was selected as a Nurse-Fellow in the National VA Quality Scholars Program where she developed expertise in quality improvement methods, data analytics, change management, and systems leadership. As a Fellow she also served as a coach and mentor for medical, nursing, and public health students as well as practicing health care providers.
Currently Corrine holds a joint appointment with the Atlanta VA (Coordinator for EBP & Innovation) and Emory University (DNP program faculty) aligning her positions with the strategic initiatives of both institutions. Within her role at VA Dr. Abraham joined the VAQS leadership as Co- Director of the Atlanta VA Quality Scholars Program. Since at VA she established the Cognitive Disorders Specialty Care Education Center of Excellence which focused on inter-professional collaborative practice integrating IP learners as team members. Her contributions at the Atlanta VA have provided a framework for transforming inter-professional education, for building capacity in quality improvement methods, and providing leadership and mentoring in redesigning care delivery.
Within the School of Nursing Corrine has played an instrumental role in designing and implementing the newly formed DNP program. At Emory University she has collaborated with Medical school colleagues receiving funding to design curricula to build competencies in QI (Faculty Development in QI Workshop), and IP team collaboration (Faculty Development for the Interprofessional Teaching of Humanism). Through building networks Dr. Abraham seeks to leverage resources and relationships to identify mutually beneficial opportunities for inter-professional collaboration and learning. Corrineโs goal is to bridge the gap between academia and practice promoting translation of evidence to enhance healthcare delivery and improve patient outcomes.
