Dr. Yazan Gammoh, a Jordanian optometrist holds a PhD and an MSc in Optometry from the University of Bradford, UK. Yazan is a Professor of Optometry and the chairman of optometry department at Ahliyya Amman University, Amman, Jordan. In addition, he acts as a consultant for Lions Clubs Jordan for eye health care school eye health programs. Dr. Gammoh is a Fellow of IACLE and IACLE Educator of the Year 2017 for Europe, Africa and Middle East. Yazan is also a Peter Ackland award winner of the year 2020 and Dubai Conferences Ambassador of the year 2020. Dr. Gammoh’s main clinical interests are management of keratoconus using scleral lenses as he was a pioneer in introducing and facilitating scleral lenses in several countries in the Middle East. In addition, Dr. Gammoh has established the first not-for-profit low vision rehabilitation clinic in Jordan to serve children in Jordan regardless of their nationality and social or financial status. Furthermore, Dr. Gammoh serves in the only private clinic in Jordan solely dedicated for low vision assessment and management. Dr. Gammoh currently serves on the WCO Board of Directors as the WCO Education Committee Chair.
