I have 30 Years of experience, first serving as an Assistant Epidemiologist with M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, and then working my way up the ranks at UTPB to become a tenured full professor in Kinesiology. I have served for 16 Years as Chair of the Kinesiology Department. I teach undergraduate and graduate students Exercise Physiology, Exercise and Disease, Cardiorespiratory Physiology, and Cardiac Rehabilitation. My research includes Novel Animal Models for the study of Diabetes and metabolic disorders. I also study the effect of exercise on metabolism and heart disease. I hold two patents for novel animal models for the study of metabolic disease.
