Dr. Nico Conti is an internal medicine physician who practices with the UCLA Hospitalist Downtown Cohort at Martin Luther King Hospital, Barlow Respiratory Hospital, California Hospital Medical Center and Olive View Hospital. His place of practice is in Los Angeles, California as a community hospitalist. He is board certified in internal medicine, and uses a multidisciplinary approach to diagnose and treat complex inpatient conditions. He is a compassionate physician, a strong advocate for patients and their families, utilizing a patient-centered approach to build a patient-physician relationship. He enjoys teaching at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine as a Clinical Instructor, as well as volunteering at clinics in his community in Los Angeles serving the homeless.

Dr. Nico Conti received his medical degree from Central Michigan University College of Medicine, the schools' inaugural class. During his medical education, he was elected as one of two voting student representatives on their curriculum committee, helping shape their innovative curriculum. During medical school, he also researched potential therapeutic drug options for dengue virus infections. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Case Western Reserve University / University Hospitals and Louis Stokes' VA Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio. During residency, he was awarded the Resident Teaching Award in his final year for his lecture style and teaching on the wards. During residency, he also studied bacterial mechanisms of resistance to antibiotics resulting in clinical drug resistance. He received his undergraduate degree from The University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, where he researched persistent viral infections and created culture models of such infections.
