At present I am working as Head of department/Professor of cardiology at Rawalpindi Medical College & Allied Hospitals. There are three allied teaching hospitals of Rawalpindi Medical University. I have been associated with cardiology since 1994 when I started my postgraduate training in the field of cardiology. My topic of research for postgraduate fellowship was related to Percutaneous Transvenous Mitral commissurotomy using Inoue technique. Pakistan is a developing country and a lot of work is needed to create awareness about the basic risk factors for cardiac diseases I have also authored a few research articles about smoking in medical students who are the torch bearers to create awareness. Two of my research are about the use of CT scan in in cardiac patients.
