Board certified in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology. I have been in practice since 2006. My practice entails general cardiology along with special interest in interventional cardiology and structural heart disease. I have been actively involved in teaching medical students, internal medicine residents and cardiology fellows, and received twice the outstanding interventional cardiology teaching award at the Jackson Memorial Hospital/University of Miami School of Medicine program. I am actively involved in clinical research and international cooperation to spread interventional cardiology therapies to underserved areas in some countries of South America. I am the current associate editor of the Journal of Cardiac Surgery.
