About
An interdisciplinary researcher who seeks to improve animal and human health by better understanding the impact of environmental factors in the development of diseases. I maintain a broad interest in host-pathogen interactions, animal, human and zoonotic diseases. My main focus include, but are not limited to, gastrointestinal pathogens and
arboviruses through the application of statistical methods in epidemiology and environmental sciences.
I am particularly interested in spatio-temporal epidemiology, taking into account the spatial-specific risk factors and how risk changes through time. Since we live in a growing and interconnected world, for public health systems to break the cycle of zoonotic outbreaks, enforcing a One Health approach has considerable potential for understanding disease transmission processes. I am open to new evidence-based research opportunities to
improve health globally.
