Dr. Nuyttens is an assistant professor in radiation oncology. He is working since 2001 in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Erasmus MC Cancer Institute, Rotterdam in the Netherlands with a special focus on thoracic, and digestive cancer. He has published more than 60 publications in international journals, five book chapters on stereotactic radiotherapy for lung tumors, and one on intra-operative brachytherapy. In the last 13 years, Dr. Nuyttens has been using the CyberKnife® system to treat early-stage NSCLC and oligometastasis. He is also a project member of the Holland Proton Therapy Center in Delft.

In 1996, Dr. Nuyttens graduated from the Medical School at Ghent University in Belgium where he also did his post-graduate medical specialty training in radiotherapy. He then completed his education with advanced Radiation Oncology training at the Medical University of South Carolina (USA) and was a research fellow at the William Beaumont Hospital in Detroit (USA).
