I am, Dr.Omer Javed working as a hematopathologist in The Indus Hospital Karachi. I cleared my hematology fellowship exam FCPS in 2017 and FRCPath I in 2018. I joined The Indus Hospital in 2018 as a hematology registrar and this is the 3rd year of my post fellowship career working as a Consultant Hematologist since June 2019.My last three years as a hematologist see me mature as a lab leader managing areas in laboratory hematology especially Quality assurance/Quality control , testing methodologies, setting up policy and procedures as per CLSI /CAP , staff training, residents training and academics alongwith getting credentialed into independent reporting of Benign/Malignant Hematology which includes see routing hematology smears, reporting of fluid examination, HPLC, Bone marrow biopsy procedure and reporting, flowcytometry , FISH and tests for bleeding disorders including (PT/APTT, Mixing studies, Fibrinogen, Factor assay testing). During the tenure I managed to be a key figure in the following studies;
Cytogenetic profiling in acute leukemia (submitted to journal)
Antigen modulation in pediatric acute leukemias on therapy(submitted in ASH 2020)
And a couple of case reports in malignant hematology.
My areas of interest are Hemostasis (Bleeding & Thrombosis) and Flowcytometry.
