About

Jeremiah N. Johnson MD graduated from the Neurosurgery Residency program at the University of Miami where he also received 2-years of fellowship training in Neurointerventional surgery.  He moved to Stanford University where he completed an open Cerebrovascular Neurosurgery fellowship as well as post-graduate training in the Stanford Bio-innovation and Design program. Dr. Johnson is Associate Professor of Neurosurgery at University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), His clinical focus is in the diagnosis and treatment of brain and spinal vascular pathologies.



Dr. Johnson serves nationally for the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS) as Past Chair of the Young Neurosurgeons Committee and has served on the editorial board of the Journal of Neurosurgery. He has also received the American Medical Association Foundation Award for Leadership in Medicine, Rosomoff Research Award, UM Neurosurgery Teacher of the Year Award, and won the Congress of Neurological Surgeons’ SANS Resident Challenge.



He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, editorials, and book chapters. His research interests include, the cranio-spinal venous system and spinal vascular malformations, endovascular imaging and device technology advancements. Additionally, he is an advocate of open science, data sharing and organizing currently unused clinical data for large scale analysis.
