About

Dr. Erxi Wu is Full Investigator (equivalent to tenured Full Professor), Baylor Scott & White Health (BSWH). He is Associate Director in Neuroscience Institute at BSWH and Director of Neuro-Oncology Research Center at BSWH. He is Professor of Texas A&M University Health Science Center and Full Member and Associate Professor of LIVESTRONG Cancer Institutes, UT Austin. He was a faculty member in the Pharmacy School at North Dakota State University (NDSU) from 2008 to 2015, teaching Pharmacogenomics as well as Pharmacodynamics and Applied Therapeutics, and a faculty member in Children’s Hospital Informatics Program (CHIP) at Health Sciences & Technology (HST) Division, Harvard-MIT from 2005 to 2008. Prior to that, he obtained his postdoctoral research training as Research Associate at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Harvard Medical School from 1998 to 2004 and his Ph.D. research training at Sheffield University Medical School from 1995 to 1998. He was a Guest Lecturer in Pharmacology at Hunan University from 1992-1993 and Pharmacologist and Pharmacologist-In-Charge at Hunan Institute for Drug Control from 1983 to 1994. He served as President of IABMR (2002-2003), President of SAPA-NE (2003-2004) and Vice President of SAPA (2003-2004). He is currently a Board Director for Chinese-American BioMedical Association (CABA). He is the General Secretary of Association of Chinese Americans in Cancer Research (ACACR). He has published over 170 papers in the peer-reviewed journals, e.g., Nature Medicine, Molecular Cancer, JACS, Nature Communications, Bioactive Materials, iScience, JCI, PNAS, and eight book chapters on cancer (brain tumors, pancreatic cancer, neuroblastoma, breast cancer, cancer neuroscience, etc.) and neurodegenerative disease therapeutic targets as well as drug discovery. He has received numerous grants from NIH and other resources. He is a reviewer for more than 100 journals. He has been a reviewer for NIH Academic-Industrial Partnership (AIP) R01s since 2017 to help judge outstanding research proposals. He is a DoD brain tumor panel reviewer. He is often invited to give talks in the national and international meetings or organizations.
