Haematologist & Bone Marrow Transplant Physician | Researcher | Learner | Physician-Scientist.
I completed MBBS and followed it up with an MCPS in Clinical Pathology. I then pursued FCPS in Haematology from the College of Physicians and Surgeons, Pakistan (CPSP). I was later awarded with Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians (Edinburgh). Subsequently, I received the Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists UK (FRCPath) and became one of the few doctors in Pakistan with this qualification.
I was the first Pakistani recipient of the International Society of Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH) Fellowship, and received extensive training at the Angelo Bianchi Bonomi Centre, University of Milan, Italy, under Professor Mannucci. I bring a wealth of experience in treating blood diseases, disorders and cancers. I have worked at many leading hospitals and previously served as the Medical Director, Clinical Director (where I was also responsible for the Clinical Haematology Residency Programme) and Consultant Haematologist at the National Institute of Blood Disease and Bone Marrow Transplantation (NIBD & BMT).
Presently, I work as a Clinical Haemato-Oncologist at the Dr. Ziauddin Hospital, North Nazimabad, and at Midciti Hospital Karachi, Pakistan.
