Dr. Evan Leonard is a distinguished medical scientist, clinical anatomist, and physician associate with over a decade of experience spanning academia, clinical practice, and healthcare consulting. He currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Medical Education at Barry University, where he teaches courses in anatomy, neuroanatomy, pathophysiology, clinical pharmacology, and physician assistant medicine and surgery. As a dedicated educator, Dr. Leonard is also the Course Director for Gross Anatomy with Lab and an active member of the curriculum and admissions committees.

Dr. Leonard’s extensive career includes roles at prestigious institutions such as Nova Southeastern University, Chamberlain University, and the University of Florida, where he has held leadership positions and directed simulation-based medical education programs. His expertise extends to emergency and internal medicine, having provided acute and chronic patient care, and performed advanced medical procedures.

As the CEO and Medical Science Director of Health Education Totalis, LLC, Dr. Leonard has contributed significantly to medical education through consulting, medical writing, and higher education program development. His work as a peer-reviewed journal contributor and reviewer for publications such as The Cureus Journal of Medical Science and The Journal of Physician Assistant Education highlights his commitment to advancing medical research and education.

Dr. Leonard’s academic credentials include a Doctor of Medical Science (DMS) degree from Lincoln Memorial University, a Master of Medical Science (MMS) from Nova Southeastern University, and a Master of Science in Anatomy from Barry University. He is also a Harvard University trained researcher in Drug Discovery and Development. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles and co-authored book chapters on topics ranging from infectious diseases to genetic causes of congenital heart conditions.

Dr. Leonard served as a corporal in the United States Marine Corps Reserves, where he led medical operations for a shock trauma platoon. He continues to support veterans by serving on the board of Camp Centurion which houses homeless veterans and helps get them reintegrated into society. He is also a recipient of awards such as "Best PA in Medicine: 2018" and the Continental Who’s Who Pinnacle Professional Award.

Dr. Leonard’s dedication to service is evident in his medical volunteering efforts, including surgical missions to Africa, medical missions to Central America, community health initiatives, and his role as a medical counselor for Alcoholics Anonymous.
