Dr. Tinawi is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Nephrology and Internal Medicine.
He completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Michigan State University Affiliated Hospitals in East
Lansing, MI, where he also served as acting chief medical resident. He completed a fellowship in
Nephrology at Saint Louis University Hospital under the directorship of Dr. Kevin Martin. Dr. Tinawi has
published in peer-reviewed medical journals and lectured extensively on different nephrology topics on local, regional and national levels.
Dr. Tinawi served as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at Michigan State
University from 2004 to 2009. Dr. Tinawi is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and the
American Society of Nephrology.
