Wolfgang Thasler is currently the Head of the Department of General and Visceral Surgery at Red Cross Hospital in Munich. Within the Comprehensive Cancer Center, he is also the head of the Interdisciplinary Centre for Colorectal Cancer.  Wolfgang Thasler is a trained board surgeon, who is certified for colorectal surgery and surgical oncology by the European Board of Surgical Qualification. In the university, he holds the post of ajunct professor. Professor Thasler's main clinical focus is oncologic surgery and he specializes in minimally invasive surgery and colorectal surgery.  His main scientific interests include biobanking, liver regeneration and personalised medicine. In his career, he has published over 100 scientific contributions, such as journal articles, reviews, book chapters and congress proceedings. He is an active member of several academic societies.
