About

Throughout my undergraduate career, I have dedicated much of time supporting my peers through a tutoring and mentoring position at Florida International University. Through this position, I had the pleasure of developing a series of active learning workshops that foster students critical thinking and professional development in Chemistry and Biology courses. During the 4 years of undergraduate, I have also completed two summer research internships at the University of Miami and the University of Michigan. At the University of Miami, I led a project that investigated the role of intracellular signalling in mediating the function of Calmodulin, a calcium-binding protein. The project was with a conjunction between the molecular and biomedical department and the chemistry department. Following the conclusion of the project, I presented my findings through oral and poster presentations. At the University of Michigan, I worked with the University of Michigan and Ann Arbor VA hospital to identify proteins involved in strokes. Following the 12 weeks summer research internship, I presented my findings through oral and poster presentation. In my future endeavours, I seek to continue supporting other students while continue to grow academically and professionally.
